Well just wanted to let some people know about the game day we had. 5 people showed up which is less than you would like to see show up but it could be worse. The weekend of UH release we were all high off the new plastic smell and couldn't help but buy up boosters. We decided to play a 200 point game every man for himself using 2 Mos Eisley maps put together.
There was a Vong squad, a couple Jedi based squads (including my own). An Auura Sing, Emperror, Thrawn squad, and a Vader/Huge squad.
I ened up starting next to Ghangis Ska who was controlling the Vong squad. I figured I was going to have some problems given their Jedi immunity. So as I began to clash with them other action also started taking place. The other Jedi squad stayed put in the corner while the Aurra/Emporer and Vader/Huge started exchanging fire.
Eventually(and I mean eventually) the other Jedi squad took some of Ghengis and his Vong squads attention away from me and spread his forces out a little. Then the other Jedi's player had to pack up and leave for work. Left the Vong in a tough spot because now they were in a position to deal with my Jedi squad and the ranged attack of the Aurra/Emporer/Thrawn squad. The Vader/Huges squad was picked off pretty systematically. Eventually the Vong destroyed the Thrawn force. And then there was Jedi vs Vong and of course the Force reigned supreme and ultimately won the day.
Felt good to do in Ghengis even if it wasn't based solely on my skill. Getting his forces divided up really did him in. I have a friendly rivalry in my head with Ghengis after he beat me in my final game at the ROTS release in Milford, MA last year. Congrats in order to him for placing 1st at the UH release in Milford. I had a feeling he would.
All in all it was a great game that lasted 4 hours. The Time Machine in Manchester, CT is a cool old building. I believe it was a Fire House way, way back in the day. Next time we get together I may have to bring my digital camera to get some pictures. Definitely regret not having brought it last time.
Hope someone enjoyed the little recap.
